Destination Covered :Lhasa

DAY 01 : Arrival In Lhasa (3680m)
Upon your arrival in Lhasa at an altitude of 3680m, our team will warmly welcome you at either Lhasa Airport or Railway Station. From there, we will transfer you to your hotel, a journey taking approximately 1.5 hours from the airport and 20 minutes from the train station. We highly recommend taking it easy on this first day to allow your body to acclimatize to the high altitude and to overcome any jet lag. You can leisurely explore the local market and the city, but it's important not to exert yourself too much.

Additional Service: Complimentary Lhasa Airport transfer on the first and last day, as well as a free Lhasa Railway Station transfer on the first and last day at designated times.

DAY 02 : Lhasa Sightseeing
On the second day, your guide will meet you at the hotel for a day of sightseeing on the high plateau. Your first stop will be the Drepung Monastery, one of the largest Tibetan monasteries that once housed over 10,000 monks. Historically, it served as the residence of the Dalai Lamas until the construction of the Potala Palace by the Great Fifth Dalai Lama. The monastery is renowned for its academic excellence and is often referred to as the Nalanda of Tibet. During the visit, you will also have the chance to witness the biggest monastery kitchen and enjoy a Buddhist sculpture carving workshop near Drepung.

After lunch, you'll head to Sera Monastery, another one of the 'Great Three' Gelug monasteries. The monastery is famous for its "Monks Debate" activities on Buddhism, which usually take place in the afternoon from around 3 to 5 PM. Additionally, the monastery houses three sand Mandalas and colorful Rock Paintings of Buddha, which are popular attractions for visitors.

DAY 03 : Lhasa Sightseeing
By the third day, you should be better adjusted to the high elevation of Lhasa. Today's itinerary includes exploring the iconic Potala Palace, which served as the winter residence of the Dalai Lama. Inside the palace, you will witness the gilded burial stupas of former Dalai Lamas and the meditation cave of the 33rd great king of Tibet. It is recommended to visit the palace in the morning for about 2-3 hours before embarking on the pilgrimage route around the Potala.

In the afternoon, you will visit the Jokhang Temple, which is the center of Tibetan Buddhism and features Buddhist prayer wheels, a reclining deer, and golden sutra streamers. You will also have the opportunity to witness many pilgrims praying in front of the temple and to do kora with local pilgrims.

Afterward, take a leisurely stroll through the enchanting alleys of Barkhor Street, where you can enjoy traditional sweet tea, engage in conversations with locals, and even indulge in some bargaining with street vendors to experience the authentic life of Lhasa.
