ITINERARY FOR TAJ MAHAL DAY TOUR

07:00 HRS.

Start your same day Taj Mahal tour by being picked up from your hotel in Delhi. You will be transferred to Hazrat Nizamuddin Railway station to board the air-conditioned Gatimaan Express train to Agra.

08:10 HRS.

The train departs from New Delhi. Enjoy a delicious breakfast served on board as you relax and admire the passing landscapes.


09:50 HRS.

Arrive in Agra. Upon arrival, you will be greeted by a representative from the tour company. From here, the guided city tour of Agra begins.

10:00 HRS.

Built by Emperor Shahjahan in memory of his beloved wife Mumtaz Mahal, the Taj Mahal is a symbol of eternal love and devotion. Visit the Pearl Mosque, Jahangiri Mahal, Diwan-i-Am (Hall of Public Audience), Moti Masjid, and Diwan-i-Khas (Hall of Private Audience).


13:00 HRS.

14:30 hrs:

Visit Tomb of I'timād-ud-Daulah

After Lunch, visits the exquisite tomb of the emperor Jehangir chief minister and father - in - law, often called the Baby Taj. Its design foreshadows the Taj Mahal. Often described as a 'jewel box' sometimes called the Baby Taj, the tomb of I'timād-ud-Daulah, is often regarded as a draft of the Tāj Mahal. It comprises numerous outbuildings and gardens. The tomb, built between 1622 and 1628, represents a transition between the first phase of monumental Mughal architecture primarily, constructed from red sandstone with marble decorations. Nūr Jahān commissioned the mausoleum, the wife of Jahangir, for her father Mirzā Ghiyās Beg, originally a Persian Amir in exile.

Fatehpur Sikri (Optional) - If time permits, you can also visit Fatehpur Sikri:

Later proceed towards Fatehpur Sikri, an excursion site. Situated 40 km from Agra, the city of Fatehpur Sikri is an imperial city built by the Mughal Emperor Akbar between 1571 and 1584. We can't describe the architectural grandeur of this deserted city in words. One can only experience the aura of its magnificent edifices by seeing them. 16:30 HRS.

As the day comes to an end, you will be driven back to Agra Cantt Railway Station. Take this opportunity to soak in the last moments of the city's charm and culture before your departure.

You will be dropped-in at Agra Cantt Railway Station to board on the Gatimaan Express train to Delhi.

17:50 HRS.

Gatimaan Express train departs from Agra. Evening Snacks serve on board.

19:30 HRS.

Arrive Delhi. Upon arrival, pick up from Railway Station and transfer to your hotel in Delhi.
