DAY 01 : ARRIVAL DELHI
Upon arrival at International Airport you are met and transferred to the pre-booked hotel. Upon arrival at the hotel, you are received with a traditional welcome. Overnight at the hotel. Afternoon visits Old Delhi, built in the 17th century by Shah Jehan the Magnificent (who also built the Taj Mahal). First, we will be visiting the famous Jama Masjid mosque with its 9,000 sq. ft. courtyard, three domes and two minarets, and then proceed to the massive complex known as the Red Fort. Overnight at the hotel.
DAY 02 : DELHI - JAIPUR BY ROAD 260 KMS 6 HRS DRIVE VIA SAMODE
After breakfast, proceed for guided city tour of New Delhi visiting Qutab Minar, Humayun Tomb, India Gate, and Parliament street and later drive towards Jaipur popularly known as the Pink City, was built in 1727 AD by Maharaja Sawai Jai Singh II. Designed by Shilp Shastra - an ancient Hindu treatise on architecture - Jaipur follows a grid system. Upon arrival check-in at the hotel. Overnight at the hotel.
DAY 03 : JAIPUR
Jaipur, the capital of Rajasthan is the most colourful city in India. Today morning visit Amber Fort in the Aravali Hills, which is a superb example of Rajput (Medieval Hindu) style architecture. A slow elephant ride takes us to the top of the Fort, which houses several graceful buildings. Afternoon tour of City Palace and Observatory. The City Palace in the heart of the old city is a blend of Rajasthan and Mughal architecture. The Palace of winds - a five-storied structure of pink sandstone has semi-octagonal and delicately honeycombed windows overlooking the main street of the old city. It was originally built to enable the ladies of the royal household to watch everyday life and spent visit the local bazaar. In the evening, we visit Chokhi Dhani where an ethnic village atmosphere is recreated each evening with thousands of oil lamps, folk dancers, acrobats, snake charmers, puppeteers, etc. Overnight at the hotel.
DAY 04 : JAIPUR - AGRA BY ROAD 232 KMS 5 HOURS DRIVE
After an early breakfast, drive to Agra. Upon arrival, check-in at the hotel. Agra was once the capital of India under the Moghuls in the 16th and 17th centuries. Today you will see the exquisite tomb of the emperor Jehangir's chief minister and father-in-law often called the 'Baby Taj' because its design foreshadows the Taj Mahal. Later visit Agra's Red Fort, built over three generations by the Mughal emperors. Following an afternoon free, we go at sunset to see the Taj Mahal, the mausoleum built by a sorrowing Shah Jehan in memory of his young wife, Mumtaz Mahal. The Building's stupendous scale, flawless symmetry, translucent white marble and shimmering reflection in the water channel are truly breathtaking. Overnight at hotel.
DAY 05 : AGRA - RISHIKESH BY ROAD 360 KMS 7 HOURS DRIVE
After an early breakfast, drive to Rishikesh. At foothills of the Himalayas along banks of the sacred river, Ganges lies the town of Rishikesh. The first town this holy river reaches on its descent from the mountains. Rishikesh is home to many ashrams, and most major Indian ashrams, including Vivekananda, Sivananda, Osho, Bihar school of yoga, have an office there. It is a good place to experience classical Indian yoga. Class instruction may leave a few gaps for students used to the precision of western classes, but with its slow and spiritual atmosphere, it's an enjoyable place to begin discovering what India has to offer. Upon arrival check-in at your pre-booked hotel. Overnight at hotel.
DAY 06 : RISHIKESH - HARIDWAR - RISHIKESH
Morning sightseeing tour of Rishikesh visiting Bharat Mandir, Rishikund, Triveni Ghat, Ram Jhula, Laxman Jhula, etc. and late afternoon drive to Haridwar, which is 30 km from Rishikesh, to participate evening Aarti and Pooja at Hari ki Paudi, King Vikramaditya constructed this sacred ghat in memory of his brother Bhatrihari who it is believed had come to Haridwar to meditate on the banks of the Ganga. This ghat later came to be known as Har - Ki - Pauri (also called Brahamakund). At twilight, golden hues of floral diyas reflected in the river Ganga present the most enchanting sight. The imprint of Lord Hari’s footprint hallows the riverbank temple here. The ghat is regarded as the most sacred and auspicious point to bathe in the Ganga during the Kumbh held after 12 years and Ardh Kumbh after 6 years. After finishing the pooja drive back to Rishikesh. Overnight at the hotel.
DAY 07 : RISHIKESH - DELHI 230 KMS 6 HOURS DRIVE
After breakfast, drive back to Delhi. Upon arrival in Delhi, proceed for a farewell dinner before reaching the airport for flight home with sweet memories of India.
